Inspired by Heiner Mueller's "Hamletmachine", Broken Mirror Productions will present an audiovisual feast mashing original text from William Shakespeare's own Hamlet with Mueller's translated reinvisionment.
Think Shakespeare on crack, Sarah Kane if she was male and german, Clockwork Orange without the milk bar, a rave without the hangover and Requiem for a Dream if it was a theatre show. Hamletmachine presents Shakespeare like you’ve never seen it before in a bold installation/mixed-media/movement artwork that will need to be seen to be believed.
Featuring original multimedia work and talented creative and production staff from Melbourne, this will surely be something the critics will rave about.

Although not specifically a year before Broken Mirror became an almagomated whole, the seeds were planted early with considerable work with La Mama and other venues around Melbourne.
Theatre and Film has always been a passion and a sick obsession for Broken Mirror's founder and Managing Director. The years leading up to the conception of the idea and the eventual space becoming a relatity was a rollercoaster ride through amazing experiences in theatre.
